What others are saying about the spa:

NY Mag, Karen Tina Harrison says,

"Customers are typically greeted by name and escorted down a swirling path of polished river stones and walnut flooring, then up a slate-stepped staircase to a small balcony lounge or the comfortable blue-hued treatment rooms. Thorough facials—which include steam, extraction, cranio-sacral massage, and various masks—employ fragrant Naturopathica products, a motorized complexion buffer, and an ingenious blackhead vacuum; estheticians do not leave your side for one second, massaging hands and arms while the pumpkin peel goes to work and de-kinking feet during the algae mask. Targeted massages cover a range of styles: the Pachamama mixes five different modalities, while other options dig deep with hot stones or smooth bamboo rods. Also on offer are waxing, mani-pedis, tropically themed body scrubs, and a single salon chair for cuts and color."

Citysearch user, Kban says,

"I took advantage of the "$50 and under special" through Time Out NY and was pleasantly surprised. My technician, Virginia, was so nice and professional. It's one of the few times I have had wax done and not broken out... she even suggested chamomile to reduce redness. I was already impressed and then the mani/pedi was sheer perfection. The facilities are very clean... a relief here in NYC. Virginia paid attention to every detail and was extremely thorough. My nails look amazing, feel strong and my cuticles have never looked healthier. Amazing job. The regular price for mani/pedi may be more than I am used to paying, but I have learned it is well worth it when you want quality service and treatment! I will be visiting Virginia soon ; )"

Why I like the spa:

  • This spa is one of New York Magazines critics picks!
  • Located smack dab between Soho and the Village, you'll want to come to the neighborhood early and maybe stay late! Check out one of my fav cupcake places- Out of the Kitchen- located just north of the spa on Hudson (and Leroy)..Manis, Pedis, Cupcakes, Oh MY!
  • The owner, Fabien, has been in the spa business for a while, so you know you will be in good hands at Iguazu!
  • Their website! They have this groovy water feature that helps pay tribute to its namesake- Iguazu Falls in South America! How do they do that?
